The Texas Nurse Aide course is five weeks (100 hours)

  • 60 hours of classroom, 40 hours of clinical

  • In-person classes (day and night classes are offered)
  • State test offered on site

School only open for state testing 6/5/2023-June 13th for summer break

Class Schedule:

The first day of class - Monday orientation

Day Classes:

Tues, Wed, Thurs IN PERSON

9am-1pm

4th week- clinicals at nursing home consist of three 12 hour shifts (weekend or weekday)

Evening classes:

Tues, Wed, Thurs IN PERSON

5:30pm-9:30pm

Tuition, Payment & Books (CNA class)

Cost of course is $990

Major credit cards, cash, cashier's checks are accepted forms of payment

Payments are due in 3 installments (includes books): $330 to secure your spot on registration, $330 first week of class,

remaining $330 due prior to the last day of course

Textbooks are issued on registration or prior to start of class- $60 

Prerequisites Nurse Aide/CNA class:

Students must be healthy enough to work 8–12 hours a day.

Students must have strength to lift 20 pounds.

Students must speak and write English fluently (a language assessment test may be issued to determine fluency)

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required

Must be able to pass a background check.

If you are pregnant you must have a release from your doctor to participate in this course.


FAQ

• Q: Will I be a CNA after the course?

A: You will schedule a state test following the course. Once the written and skills tests are passed, you will

obtain your CNA.

• Q: Where can I work as a CNA?

A: Nursing homes, home health, hospitals, clinics, adult day cares, personal care homes, private duty, and

hospice facilities.

• Q: Where can I get my CPR and which CPR certification do I need?

A: You will need the American Heart Association’s Healthcare Provider Certification, which is good for two years.

This school does offer the CPR training as an extension of services for an additional $40. This portion is not

regulated by TWC.

• Q: Are there grants for the program?

A: Currently there are no state or local grants available for this program.

• Q: Do I have to have a background check?

A: Yes, you will need a background check and you cannot have a criminal record to enroll. We pay for the background check. 

• Q: Do I need to take an entrance exam?

A: No. There is no entrance exam, however an English proficiency assessment may be required

• Q: Do I have to have a physical?

A: No, unless you are pregnant (in which case you will need a release from your doctor for class)

• Q: Are there any hidden fees?

A: The state test fee is not included in this course. Following the course, you will need to pay $120 for the state test for certification. You will need to purchase a uniform, a stethoscope, a flu shot (if not already current), TB

test, and workbook. This will add approximately $150 to the cost of the course.

• Q: Do I have to be 18?

A: No. You have to be 16 as long as you can prove that you are enrolled in high school or have a GED.
